Modula Intense Pulsed Light is a CE-certified versatile technology that can treat a variety of skin problems & blemishes. It has a source of polychromatic pulsed light energy that generates several wavelengths, covering a broader spectrum.

You can apply a filter in front of the light source to select a specific wavelength. Each wavelength corresponds to a different depth of penetration of energy & is used for a different skin condition. Modula IPL seamlessly combines six applications in one handpiece, just by simply changing the filter.

How does Modula IPL work?
Photorejuvenation

Modula IPL raises the temperature and causes a controlled slight lesion of the upper dermis layer without causing any damage to the epidermis.

This activates a healing process that leads to the neoformation of collagen.

The pulsed light also acts on the fibroblasts, leading to formation of elastin & collagen, apparent a few months after the first comprehensive treatment.

Hypertrophies & Capillaries

Lesions to be treated have a higher concentration of melanin & hemoglobin than healthy skin and absorb huge amounts of light. These areas rise in temperature to the point of destruction without damage to healthy tissue. This is also effective in recompacting dilated pores.

Acne Treatment

Modula IPL acts on porphyrins, molecules synthesized in large quantities by P. Acnes.

When exposed to certain wavelengths (400nm), porphyrins become chemically active and produce oxygen that binds to cell membranes and destroys both P. Acnes and sebaceous gland cells.
